Nails Good Enough to Eat

I have confessed before that I like to dabble in nail art, but haven't shown any. It is a poplar and maybe over-one design, but I have decided a Watermelon theme on my toes would be nice and summery for this pretty miserable August week. I actually wanted to do this design last week and did the red and green varnish then, but only managed to get around to the finishing details today.

All you need is a bright red base (Barry M's 'Bright Red' here), a green to sweep along the outer edge of the nail, in a slight curve (I used an old discontinued Rimmel one for mine, but their 'I <3 Lasting Finish' in 'Grass Green' should be good) and then white and black polished or nail art pens.

I used a toothpick and white paint to draw the dividing line, and then put on dots with my black nail art pen (from 'Star Nails'), but you could just as easily use a toothpick for this too, or small brushes for both parts.

I kept my other nails plain red, as the nails are too small to decorate really, but you could easily duplicate the design on every finger, or else do a dark green, like the outer watermelon, on some others :)

So here are my nails this week:
No doubt they will change again soon, but for now I will enjoy that last chance for summery patterns whilst I can.
